Cargo Ship Repels Armed Attack in Red Sea off Houthi-Controlled Hodeidah
A commercial bulk carrier was attacked 30 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah by armed assailants in a motorized skiff. The ship's private security team exchanged gunfire with the attackers, who eventually retreated to a larger mother vessel operating without an active identification system. The UKMTO reported the crew and vessel are safe. While no group has claimed responsibility, the area is under Houthi control and follows recent Houthi threats to resume maritime strikes.
