US Navy Suspends Arabian Sea Search for Missing Sailor
U.S. Central Command Naval Forces officially suspended search operations on July 5, 2026, for a sailor missing since a helicopter crash on July 1. The sailor, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 5, disappeared after an MH-60S Seahawk conducted an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea upon departing the USS George H.W. Bush. The extensive 102-hour search covered 14,000 square miles but yielded no results. Three other crew members were previously rescued and are in stable condition.
