An advancing military column of nearly 500 troops from the junta's Light Infantry Division 101 moved through the Magway Region, stationing at Nyaung Ye Dair village by July 2. The intense offensive operations and associated violence forced over 10,000 residents across 16 villages in northeastern Pauk Township to flee their homes.
