Clashes in Artibonite Department
Armed groups clashed in the Artibonite department of Haiti, forcing residents to flee the deteriorating security situation. According to the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the intense gang violence displaced more than 2,600 people in the region. The vast majority of the newly displaced individuals—more than three quarters—were forced to seek emergency refuge in the commune of Marchand Dessalines to escape the fighting.
