Yemen's Giants Brigades Intercept Houthi-Bound Smuggling Vessel
Forces from the Southern Giants Brigades’ 2nd Division intercepted a smuggling vessel in the Bab al-Mandab Strait on June 30, 2026. The vessel was reportedly transporting military production equipment, including dual-use industrial components for drones and missiles, from the Horn of Africa to the Houthi-controlled port of Hudaydah. Three Houthi-affiliated crew members were detained. The cargo represents one of the largest maritime seizures of industrial military components in the region since the conflict began.
