Thousands Flee Renewed Armed Clashes in Cité Soleil, Haiti
Starting June 13 and intensifying through the week of June 16, 2026, renewed armed clashes between gangs in the Cité Soleil commune of Port-au-Prince displaced over 5,000 people. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that the severe violence forced Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to suspend its maternity facility operations in the area.
