Armed Gang Clashes Displace 2,600 in Haiti's Artibonite Department
More than 2,600 people were displaced in Haiti's Artibonite department following intense clashes between rival armed gangs around June 19, 2026. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the IOM, more than three-quarters of the displaced individuals fled their homes to seek refuge in the nearby commune of Marchand Dessalines as violence escalated.
