Over 1,400 Displaced in North Darfur's Umbro Locality Amid RSF Attacks
Approximately 1,430 people were displaced from five villages, including Shatmarta, Sangari, Goz Laban, Dal Barida, and Khair Wajid, in the Umbro locality of North Darfur on June 23, 2026. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that the civilian flight was triggered by escalating insecurity and attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The displaced individuals sought refuge in other parts of Umbro or crossed into neighboring Chad.
