Pakistani Airstrikes Kill 28 Civilians in Eastern Afghanistan
Pakistani military aircraft conducted overnight cross-border airstrikes in Afghanistan's Paktika, Paktya, and Kunar provinces. The UN reported that the strikes, which were targeting alleged militant holdouts, killed at least 28 civilians and injured 49 others. The strikes hit civilian homes, sharply exacerbating diplomatic tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.
