Pakistani Ground Operation and Airstrikes Target Militants in Afghanistan
Pakistani security forces crossed the border into Afghanistan to carry out an "intelligence-based" ground operation, heavily supported by "calibrated" airstrikes. The mission targeted the hideouts of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar in Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces, resulting in the deaths of 29 militants. This followed a deadly TTP attack on Rangers headquarters in Karachi that killed three Pakistani soldiers.
