US Treasury Sanctions Global Procurement Networks Fueling Sudan Civil War
The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions on eight individuals and entities for providing military equipment, explosives, and recruitment services to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The network included a Panama-based entity recruiting Colombian mercenaries for the RSF and an India-based explosives manufacturer. The State Department concurrently banned Sudanese state-owned air carriers from U.S. operations.
