European Union Extends Economic Sanctions on Russia Through July 2027
The Council of the European Union renewed economic sanctions against the Russian Federation for an additional 12 months on June 25, 2026. The measures, targeting finance, energy, and dual-use technology sectors, are now extended until July 31, 2027. EU leaders reaffirmed their commitment to weakening Russia's war economy and are working toward a 21st sanctions package aimed at constraining the shadow fleet and banking system to stop the war of aggression.
