Russia and Ukraine Exchange Remains of 555 Fallen Soldiers
In a significant humanitarian development facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, Russia transferred the remains of 522 fallen soldiers to Ukraine, while receiving 33 bodies in return. Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War confirmed the repatriation, stating that forensic identification procedures would be conducted in the coming days. This represents one of the largest body exchanges since regular repatriations were established following the 2024 Istanbul framework agreements.
