IDF Evacuation Orders Displace Thousands Across 17 Lebanese Villages
Between June 5 and 7, 2026, IDF evacuation orders and intensified military activity forced residents across 17 villages in Lebanon's South, Nabatieh, and Bekaa governorates to flee their homes. Five collective shelters hosting displaced families in the South Governorate also had to be evacuated due to the escalating hostilities. The UN reported that these conditions left shelters at full capacity. According to IDMC methodology for evacuation orders, an estimated 8,000 individuals were newly displaced by these specific developments.
