Armed Attack and Looting on Um Baru Village
On June 14, armed fighters attacked a local village in the Um Baru locality of North Darfur. The militants looted the local market and caused the village's primary healthcare unit to suspend all critical medical services. The insecurity and violence forced an estimated 2,000 local residents to flee to nearby areas, exacerbating an already desperate humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
