Iranian Tanker Fleet Anchors in Southeast Asia Awaiting Lifting of U.S. Blockade

Satellite imagery published June 16, 2026, shows five Iranian-flagged tankers, including the DERYA and SALINA, anchored approximately 40km off Penang, Malaysia. Three additional tankers were monitored near Galle, Sri Lanka. The vessels are reportedly awaiting the formal lifting of the U.S. maritime blockade on June 19 following the recently announced de-escalation deal.
