US Navy Disables Merchant Vessel M/V Lian Star in Gulf of Oman Blockade
U.S. Central Command forces disabled the M/V Lian Star on June 12, 2026, after the vessel ignored more than 20 warnings while transiting toward an Iranian port. A Hellfire missile was fired into the ship's engine room by U.S. aircraft. CENTCOM reports that since the implementation of the maritime blockade on April 13, nine non-compliant vessels have been disabled and 135 redirected, significantly restricting Iranian energy exports and military logistics in international waters.
