Heightened insecurity displaces thousands in South Kordofan
Deteriorating security conditions and clashes between armed groups in the Kadugli, Dilling, and Habila localities of South Kordofan led to significant civilian flight. Between late May and early June 2026, the IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix tracked the internal displacement of 2,245 people. According to ReliefWeb, the civilians sought refuge in North Kordofan, White Nile, and Khartoum to escape the ongoing violence exacerbated by the broader conflict between the SAF and RSF.
