Kenyan police deployed tear gas and arrested several demonstrators in the central town of Nanyuki. Local residents are vehemently protesting the rapid construction of a U.S.-backed, 50-bed Ebola quarantine facility at an air force base, which is intended to house asymptomatic Americans exposed to the virus in the DRC and Uganda. The government has continued construction despite Kenyan court orders barring further work.
