Thousands flee as M23 rebels launch offensive near Sake
M23 rebels initiated a coordinated ground offensive targeting Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) positions near the strategic town of Sake. The heavy mortar fire and advancing rebel forces prompted civilians to evacuate toward displacement camps on the outskirts of Goma.
