Somali Security Forces Kill 28 Al-Shabaab Militants in Coordinated Operations
On June 2, 2026, the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) reported the elimination of 28 al-Shabaab terrorists during targeted operations in the Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions. Senior leader Abdirahman Abdi Mudallib, responsible for planning attacks in Buulo-burde, was among those killed in an airstrike. The operation intercepted approximately 70 militants gathered near Masaajid Cali Gaduud.
