Arakan Army Attacks Myanmar Navy Bases in Western Rakhine State
The ethnic Arakan Army launched intensified assaults on the Myanmar military's western naval bases in Sittwe and Kyaukphyu. Heavy exchanges of artillery fire were reported between Arakan Army forces and regime naval vessels in the Bay of Bengal and the Kaladan River. Ethnic troops are currently targeting the Shwe Min Gan naval support base and positions near Kyar Ma Thauk village. Over 40 regime soldiers, including a captain, were reportedly killed as the rebels near total control.
