Pakistan-Afghanistan Border Hostilities Displace 100,000 in Eastern Regions
A major escalation in hostilities along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border has forced more than 100,000 people to flee their homes in eastern Afghanistan. Renewed Pakistani air attacks and shelling targeted the Nurgal district and Maza Dara Valley, impacting displacement camps housing earthquake survivors. UN Women reports that the displacement has severely affected mothers and children, who are struggling to find food and medical care as insecurity restricts movement and aid access in the mountainous border zones.
