IRGC Launches Ballistic Missiles at Kurdish Opposition Bases in Iraq
On May 31, 2026, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired ballistic missiles at bases of the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) and the Komala Party in the Erbil and Sulaymaniyah regions of Iraqi Kurdistan. Iranian state media claimed the strikes targeted 'separatist terror groups' plotting against Tehran. While no fatalities were immediately confirmed, the strikes caused significant damage to the infrastructure of the opposition groups and increased the flow of internally displaced persons in the region.
