U.S. Marines conduct Blockade Operations
Under official ongoing U.S. blockade operations to prevent sanctions evasion, U.S. forces, including Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, intercepted and disabled non-compliant commercial shipping in the Gulf of Oman. The vessels were suspected of attempting to transit toward Iranian ports in violation of the blockade. Over 90 commercial ships have now been redirected by US forces as part of these maritime operations.
