IAEA Confirms Drone Strike on Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant Turbine Hall
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that a drone struck the turbine hall of reactor unit six at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. IAEA inspectors on-site observed physical damage, including burned optical fibers and structural impact on an access hatch. Moscow-installed officials blamed the Ukrainian military, while Kyiv dismissed the claim as a provocation. Despite the strike, the IAEA reported that radiation levels at Europe's largest nuclear facility remain normal and no critical safety systems were compromised.
