IOM tracks new conflict displacement in Marib and Shabwah
Between May 17 and 23, 2026, the International Organization for Migration’s Rapid Displacement Tracking tool recorded localized displacement movements across Yemen. Specifically, 15 households fled their locations of origin due to ongoing insecurity, primarily moving into the Ma'rib and Shabwah governorates, settling in the Harib and Ma'rib City districts. Based on standard individual tracking by IOM, this specific timeframe saw 90 newly displaced people.
