Myanmar Junta Recaptures Mawtaung Border Town, Displacing 4,000
Following a 15-day counteroffensive supported by airstrikes and artillery, Myanmar military forces recaptured the Thai border trading town of Mawtaung from the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA). The heavy fighting forced at least 4,000 civilians from the town and nine surrounding villages to flee towards the border and nearby forests.
