ICE Detainees Launch Hunger Strike and Outside Protesters Face Tear Gas
Approximately 300 detainees at the Delaney Hall ICE jail (operated by GEO Group) in Newark, New Jersey, initiated a hunger strike protesting inhumane living conditions and denied medical care. Tensions severely escalated outside the facility as masked ICE agents fired tear gas at local protesters who attempted to block a transport van moving a hunger strike organizer.
