Myanmar Military Launches Renewed Offensives in Kachin and Chin Border States
Following the formal installation of a new military administration, the Myanmar junta launched renewed large-scale offensives on May 25, 2026, targeting strategic border gateways in Kachin and Chin states. In Chin State, resistance fighters from the Chin National Front conducted strategic retreats from Falam and Tonzong towns after heavy aerial bombardment by junta aircraft. In Indaw Township, Sagaing, a combined force involving the Kachin Independence Army managed to seize a military camp in Sipain village.
