Gaza Health Crisis Deepens as 76% of Medical Imaging Systems Destroyed
On May 18, 2026, medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported the near-total collapse of diagnostic services, with 76% of all medical imaging equipment destroyed by ongoing conflict. Airstrikes on May 17 killed at least eight Palestinians, including community kitchen workers in Gaza City. Only 5 out of 18 CT scanners remain operational across the territory, and MRI services are completely unavailable.
