CODECO and CRP Militia Clashes in Djugu
Following alarming reports of CODECO and CRP armed groups converging on two nearby villages in the Djugu territory of Ituri province, MONUSCO peacekeepers deployed proactive patrols. In order to deter clashes and protect vulnerable populations, the UN evacuated 24 civilians (including 8 women and 15 children) from the immediate crossfire to a secure, fortified location.
