Fatal Clashes and Settler Violence Reported in West Bank on Nakba Anniversary
Multiple fatal incidents were reported in the West Bank coinciding with the 78th anniversary of the Nakba. In the town of Sinjil, Israeli settlers killed a 16-year-old Palestinian boy, Youssef Ali Youssef Kaabneh, during an assault on local shepherds. Separately, Israeli police shot and killed 44-year-old Zakaria Qatusa near the Jerusalem separation barrier. These events sparked intense protests across the territory and led to the re-introduction of a commemorative resolution in the United States Congress.
