Deadly Inter-Tribal Clashes Erupt in Sudan's South Kordofan Province

Violent clashes in Sudan's South Kordofan province between forces linked to the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North and the Otoro tribe have killed 61 people, including nine children. This internal conflict exacerbates the humanitarian crisis as Sudan enters its fourth year of civil war. A UN human rights report released simultaneously warned that drone strikes have accounted for more than 80% of civilian deaths in the country in early 2026, highlighting the increasing regionalization of the violence.
