Russian Forces Suffer High Casualties Despite Victory Day Ceasefire
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian forces sustained 840 personnel casualties and lost 75 artillery systems on May 10, 2026. Although a three-day ceasefire for the Victory Day holiday was theoretically in effect, combat intensified near Hryshyne. Ukrainian drones successfully targeted Russian logistics hubs in Mariupol, while Russian drone strikes killed two civilians in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. President Putin suggested the conflict may be nearing its end despite the ongoing clashes.
