U.S. removes enriched uranium from Venezuelan research reactor
The U.S. Department of Energy, in collaboration with the IAEA, safely extracted 13.5 kilograms of highly enriched uranium from the old RV-1 research reactor in Venezuela, transporting it to a facility in South Carolina to neutralize regional nuclear proliferation risks.
