US CENTCOM Disables Iranian Tankers Violating Naval Blockade in Gulf of Oman
US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that an F/A-18 Super Hornet disabled two Iranian-flagged oil tankers, the Sevda and Sea Star III, in the Gulf of Oman on May 8. The vessels were targeted for attempting to breach the ongoing US naval blockade. CENTCOM reported that 58 commercial vessels have been redirected since April 13 to prevent them from entering or exiting Iranian ports as economic pressure on Tehran intensifies.
