ADF Militants Kill 36 Civilians in Eastern DRC Attacks
Assailants from the ISIS-linked Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed at least 36 people during a two-day wave of attacks across the Ituri and North Kivu provinces. The UN mission (MONUSCO) warned of a deadly escalation in violence targeting civilian populations in the restive eastern region. This surge in attacks follows recent territorial gains by the M23 insurgency and continues to strain the fragile US-brokered peace agreements between the DRC and neighboring Rwanda.
