Iranian Naval Forces Attack U.S. Destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz
Iranian IRGC Navy forces launched a large-scale attack using missiles, drones, and small boats against three U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers—USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason—as they transited the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that all inbound threats were eliminated and that U.S. forces responded with self-defense strikes against Iranian military facilities, including drone sites and command nodes. No U.S. assets were struck during the engagement.
