U.S. Forces Disable Vessel in Gulf of Oman Attempting to Violate Blockade
U.S. Central Command forces operating in the Gulf of Oman disabled the M/T Hasna, an Iranian-flagged unladen oil tanker attempting to sail toward an Iranian port in violation of the U.S. blockade. After the crew ignored repeated warnings, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln fired rounds from its 20mm cannon, disabling the vessel's rudder.
