AFRICOM Conducts Airstrike Targeting ISIS-Somalia in Golis Mountains

U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), in coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, conducted a precision airstrike against ISIS-Somalia militants in the Golis Mountains, approximately 75km southeast of Bossaso. The strike targeted a known terrorist encampment to degrade the group's ability to plan and execute attacks against regional and international targets. No civilian casualties were reported following the operation, which remains part of the ongoing counter-terrorism partnership in the Horn of Africa.
