CENTCOM Reports 51 Vessels Rerouted Under Iranian Blockade
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on May 5, 2026, that a total of 51 vessels have now been rerouted since the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports took effect. Between May 4 and May 5, two additional blockade-eligible ships complied with U.S. orders to turn away from the Strait of Hormuz. The military confirmed that while at least 20 smaller vessels have successfully evaded the blockade since its inception, no new evasions were recorded in the last 48 hours.
