Israeli Airstrikes Target Buffer Zone and Rescue Workers in South Lebanon
The Israeli military continued its systematic bombardment of the military-imposed 'yellow line' buffer zone in southern Lebanon. Airstrikes demolished returning civilians' homes and directly targeted Lebanese Red Cross and Islamic Health Committee paramedics attempting to rescue the wounded (a tactic referred to as "double-tap"). The death toll in Lebanon has surged to 2,696 since early March.
