Viv Ansanm Gang Alliance Raids Cité Soleil Medical Facility
In a pre-dawn raid on May 3, 2026, members of the Viv Ansanm gang alliance attacked and looted a primary healthcare clinic in the Cité Soleil district of Port-au-Prince. The attackers stole medical supplies and oxygen tanks before setting fire to a portion of the building. International security forces currently deployed in the capital engaged in a brief firefight with the gang members. Two clinic staff were reportedly kidnapped during the chaotic retreat of the armed group.
