UAE Refers Sudanese Army Chief of Staff to State Security Court
The United Arab Emirates has referred Sudan's Army Chief of Staff, General Yassir al-Atta, along with 12 other defendants and six companies, to its State Security Court. The charges involve an alleged attempt to covertly move five million rounds of machine gun ammunition through UAE territory to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) using falsified documents and a private aircraft. The SAF has denied the reports, characterizing them as fabrications amid deteriorating ties between the two nations.
