US Navy Destroyer Intercepts Tanker M/T Stream Heading for Iranian Port
The guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) intercepted the oil tanker M/T Stream on April 27, 2026, as it attempted to transit to an Iranian port. U.S. Central Command confirmed the vessel was redirected as part of the naval blockade designed to choke off access to Iran's ports. CENTCOM reported that 39 vessels have been redirected since the start of the blockade to enforce compliance with maritime restrictions, causing significant congestion at the Iranian port of Chabahar.
