U.S. Marines board merchant vessel M/V Blue Star III in Arabian Sea
U.S. Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) boarded the commercial ship M/V Blue Star III in the Arabian Sea on April 28, 2026. The vessel was intercepted on suspicion of violating the U.S.-imposed naval blockade of Iranian ports. Following a thorough search and confirmation that the ship was not scheduled for a port call in Iran, U.S. Central Command released the vessel to continue its transit toward its original destination.
