During the attack, a bomb crossed the border and landed near the Salween River in Thailand's Ban Mae Sam Laep area. In response to the escalating danger, Thai officials from the 36th Ranger Forces Regiment immediately evacuated approximately 500 local residents to Huai Kong Kat village for safety [26, 29].
