U.S. President Evacuated After Shooter Opens Fire at Washington Media Gala
During the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner at the Washington Hilton, a gunman breached a security checkpoint and opened fire. U.S. Secret Service agents immediately evacuated President Donald Trump from the stage. Law enforcement and armed guards exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who was armed with multiple weapons and was subsequently detained. One Secret Service officer was shot in his vest at close range but survived.
