Ceasefire Violations Reported in Eastern DRC Following Peace Talks
Despite a recent agreement in Switzerland to facilitate humanitarian aid, fresh drone and artillery attacks were reported in eastern DRC between April 18 and 19. The Congolese military (FARDC) accused AFC/M23 rebels of launching deadly drone attacks on its positions in South Kivu, killing four civilians. The M23, in turn, accused government-aligned forces of shelling populated areas.
